As the weather transitions to spring, so must your beauty routine! Winter has finally come to an end and your skin has suffered from the cold, dryness, and wind during those months. You wouldn’t wear your big, puffy winter coat on a beautiful spring day, would you? The same logic goes for your skin care routine. Just as you would shed the long, heavy layer of clothing in spring, you should shed some of your heavier skin care products. Spring cleaning is a great opportunity to throw out old cosmetics and skin care products that have a shelf life. Expired products carry bacteria and lose their effectiveness. Here’s how to switch from winter to spring skin care.
Use a Glycolic/Salicylic 2-2 cleanser for both body and face. It’s the perfect way to thoroughly remove dead skin cells while replenishing lost moisture without causing tightness or dryness afterwards. Rinse with purified water or a mildly acidic toner, never with heavily chlorinated/fluorinated water. This cleanser is also great for acne.
Use this Fortified Exfoliation Scrub 2-3 times per week to exfoliate the skin and deep clean the pores. This will help to loosen dead skin cells and expose a brighter complexion. Depending on your skin type, you may need to exfoliate more often in the spring and summer.
Moisturizing is the key to keeping the skin in good form through spring and summer. Use Ultra Lite Moisture Dew to moisturize twice per day. Layer your moisturizer. This means that you will apply it immediately after toning while the skin is still damp. Apply 2 or more layers if needed.
