ThermiSmooth is a procedure for improving the appearance of aging skin through tightening and increasing collagen production over a period of time. It uses a unique hand piece to deliver targeted heating to the surface of the skin.
How Does ThermiSmooth Work?
The collagen under the skin will shrink when sustained heat is applied to it above 40ÂșC. This initiates a process where the skin begins to tighten and the effects of aging are reduced. The ThermiSmoothâą hand piece delivers this heat in a controlled manner to maximize patient comfort. ThermiSmooth is a hand piece used with the Thermi RF system.
How Does ThermiSmooth Differ From Other Non-Invasive Fat Treatments?
While many non-invasive fat removal treatments currently exist, ThermiSmoothâą with the Thermi RFâą system is the only one whose temperature can be adjusted to effectively treat each patientâs specific area(s) of concern. The patientâs comfort and safety is greatly enhanced by the superior temperature control system.
ThermiSmoothâą can treat many different areas of the face and is well suited for under the eyes, around the mouth, the forehead, eyelids, and neck.
During a ThermiSmooth treatment, a small amount of gel is first applied to the area of skinâs surface in the treatment area. A specific target temperature is set and the hand piece is moved across the treatment area gently in a sweeping or circular pattern. The system will automatically adjust the temperature of the device based on feedback from the patientâs skin. A small area is treated for about 5 minutes and the number of treatments will be determined by you and your dermatologist.
Treatments with ThermiSmoothâą are repeated multiple times and the exact number of treatments varies depending on the desired cosmetic result of the patient. During your consultation, your dermatologist will determine the amount of ThermiSmoothâą treatments you will need.
While multiple treatments may be necessary, most patients will see some result after the first treatment with full results developing over 3 to 6 months.
What Will Happen During My ThermiSmooth Consultation?
During your ThermiSmooth consultation, your dermatologist will examine your area(s) of concern and answer any questions you may have. Your medical history will be reviewed, as certain conditions may exclude oneâs candidacy.
