If you are considering Ultherapy, you will first consult with one of our Manhattan dermatologists. During your consultation, your dermatologist will review your medical history, examine you, and answer your questions about the Ultherapy treatment. If your area(s) of concern can be treated by Ultherapy, your treatment will be scheduled and you may be given specific instructions to follow prior to treatment. Although most patients only experience mild discomfort during treatment, you will be advised of ways to minimize your discomfort during your Ultherapy treatment.
During your Ultherapy treatment, your face will be cleansed and imaging will be done to determine which tissues beneath your skin need to be targeted. Based on the imaging, a transducer will then be set to the appropriate level and passed over those areas. As mentioned before, mild discomfort may be experienced, but our dermatologists will offer you options to maximize your comfort. Since Ultherapy is non-surgical, no downtime is required after treatment.
Some patients may experience temporary redness, swelling, or tingling after their Ultherapy treatment. Results may be noticeable immediately after treatment and are especially noticeable about 3 months post-treatment. One Ultherapy treatment is typically enough to rejuvenate the skin; however, additional treatments may be recommended, as Ultherapy does not slow down the natural aging process.
