During your consultation, your dermatologist will review your medical history and you will discuss your concerns and goals. Your Ultherapy treatment will be performed in the comfort of our West Islip office; you will remain awake the entire time. You may experience mild discomfort during treatment; however, we will provide you with ways to minimize this. After your face is cleansed, the Ultherapy handpiece will be placed over the treatment areas to reinvigorate the growth of collagen. An Ultherapy treatment typically lasts around an hour.
After Ultherapy, you will be able to immediately resume regular activities. For the first few hours after treatment, some patients may experience swelling, puffiness or a flushed appearance. Over the next three months, the collagen regrows, and the skin’s regained elasticity becomes increasingly noticeable. A single Ultherapy treatment usually provides satisfactory results; however, since Ultherapy does not inhibit the natural aging process, patients may want additional treatments.
