Ultherapy is a popular minimally-invasive skin tightening treatment. It uses ultrasound technology to jump-start the reproduction of collagen beneath the skin. As the collagen rebuilds, the skin is lifted and tightened to a more youthful appearance. Unlike surgery, Ultherapy does not require incisions, does not result in scarring, and requires minimal to no downtime after treatment. During your Ultherapy consultation, your dermatologist will examine you and review your medical history. To determine your candidacy, your dermatologist is checking that you have loose skin on your face and that you are in good overall health. If you are deemed a suitable candidate for Ultherapy, your treatment will be scheduled and your dermatologist will explain the treatment approach in great detail.
Your Ultherapy treatment will be performed in the serenity of our Park Slope, Brooklyn office. You will remain awake throughout the treatment session. Once the areas to be treated have been cleansed, the Ultherapy handpiece will be passed across those areas. During treatment, you may feel experience slight discomfort; however, we offer ways to maximize patient comfort. Depending on the area(s) being treated, an Ultherapy treatment can last anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes. After treatment, you will immediately be able to return to work.
Some patients see results immediately after their Ultherapy treatment. For most patients, results become noticeable within 3 months following treatment. Results may continue to evolve for up to 6 months after an Ultherapy treatment, as the collagen continues to replenishment. Most patients achieve satisfactory results from just one treatment; however, additional treatment may be recommended to maintain results.
