If performed correctly by a qualified professional such as Dr. Gallagher, ASVAL treatment can remove virtually 100% of varicose or spider veins with little to no scarring afterward. The concept of the ASVAL method is based on treating peripheral varicose veins rather than focusing only on larger veins, such as the saphenous vein. The approach aims to preserve healthy vein structure while addressing the veins contributing to visible changes or symptoms.
ASVAL is designed to treat select varicose veins while preserving healthier veins whenever possible. During the procedure, specialized needles are used to target smaller, affected veins that contribute to visible varicose veins and symptoms.
Because ASVAL is minimally invasive, many patients experience a shorter recovery period compared with more extensive vein procedures. Your provider will discuss what to expect based on your treatment plan and individual needs.
