Joshua Fox

M.D., F.A.A.D.

Dr. Fox is known nationwide as a leading authority in the field of dermatology, with an expertise in skin cancer, cosmetic surgery, and laser procedures. He is the founder and president of the New Age Skin Research Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to research and education. He has been an expert resource for the public interest on dermatologic topics for the major television networks, radio stations, and national newspapers and magazines.

Christopher Byrne

MPAS, RPA-C

Mr. Byrne has been a Certified Physician Assistant at Advanced Dermatology and the Center for Laser & Cosmetic Surgery since 2004. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from New York University, and his Bachelor of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the New York Institute of Technology. Mr. Byrne also completed a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies with a concentration in dermatology from the University of Nebraska School of Medicine. He has completed clerkships in every major branch of medicine, including internal medicine, pediatrics and dermatology.

Shira Ehrlich

MPAS, RPA-C

Shira Ehrlich, MPAS, RPA-C is an award-winning, board-certified physician assistant with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the New York Institute of Technology. As a valued member of the Advanced Dermatology team, Ms. Ehrlich has experience in all areas of dermatological care, including the diagnosis and treatment of lesions and skin conditions. She also specializes in cosmetic procedures, such as injectable treatments and skin rejuvenation. She’s certified as a physician assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and has been a part of the American Academy of Physician Assistants as well as the New York State Society of Physician Assistants since 2014. Besides mastering dermatological-related tasks like skin biopsies, injections, and wound cultures, PA Ehrlich also has certifications in infection control, laser treatments, and advanced cardiac life support. She can help diagnose and treat a series of skin conditions including actinic keratoses, skin cancers, psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, infections, fixed drug reactions, and many more. Furthermore, she has experience conducting intralesional injections, acne surgery, laser treatments, cryotherapy, and biopsies of malignant lesions. In 2017, Ms. Ehrlich won the New York State Society of Physician Assistants poster session first place award for her original research titled Why are Patients with Chronic Disease Nonadherent with their Prescribed Medications?

Lana Dhamija

PA-C

Lana Dhamija is a licensed, board-certified Physician Assistant. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology at Ramapo College of New Jersey and subsequently completed her Master’s degree as a Physician Assistant at Rutgers University. Lana has worked for several years in both dermatology and advanced wound care. Her expertise consists of identifying and treating skin cancer, acne, rosacea, rashes, dermatitis, warts, and various other skin conditions, as well as performing complete body exams. Her practice extends to both the adult and pediatric populations.

Guobin (Grace) Wang

PA-C

Guobin (Grace) Wang joins our practice with over eight years of dermatology experience. She completed her undergraduate education at York College, City University of New York, earning certificates for Academic Excellence. Before this, she studied in China at Anhui College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Acupuncture and earned a Ph.D. at Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. After years of working as a licensed acupuncturist, she has trained under and worked closely with well-respected Manhattan and international dermatologists. Grace practices all aspects of general dermatology, including skin cancer screenings, skin rashes, acne, psoriasis, warts, hair loss, and other therapeutic procedures. Grace is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Grace is also a member of the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She is fluent in both English and Chinese. She makes it a personal goal to deliver ethnically sensitive and competent care to patients from different backgrounds. When she’s not delivering exceptional care to her patients, Grace likes spending time with her family, traveling, and reading. She works out regularly and also enjoys learning about different cultures and nature.

Gabriela Aparicio

PA-C

Gabriela Aparicio is a licensed, board certified physician assistant at Advanced Dermatology. After graduating with a Bachelor of BioScience with honors at Farmingdale State College, Gabriela went on to complete her master of science in Physician Assistant studies at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. Gabriela is dedicated to her profession and is an active member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA), New York state society of Physician assistants (NYSSPA) and American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). Prior to receiving her Masters, Gabriela worked as a dermatology medical assistant. Gabriela has experience working on Long island, Brooklyn and NYC. She’s passionate about treating and managing chronic conditions such as acne, eczema and psoriasis. Gabriela completed comprehensive clinical training in multiple medical specialties with additional extensive training in dermatology. Gabriela takes great pride in providing her patients with individualized care and attention and is passionate about helping patients feel beautiful and confident in their skin. As a native long islander, Gabriela enjoys going to the beach, attending concerts, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Zara Hassan

PA-C

Zara Hassan is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in dermatology. Zara earned her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences with a concentration in Public health from SUNY Stony Brook. She then received her master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Mercy College in the Bronx. Zara received extensive clinical training in hospitals and practices throughout NYC and Long Island. Zara always knew she had a strong passion for dermatology and did her elective rotation in dermatology in NYC. She is passionate about providing quality patient care and enjoys working closely with patients to achieve both medical and cosmetic improvements of their skin. Zara is a member of the Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA). Zara is fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi. Zara is born and raised in New York. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids and traveling.

Rachel Straus

PA-C

Rachel Straus is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in medical and cosmetic dermatology. Rachel received her graduate degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Touro College School of Health Sciences, where she graduated with honors. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree from Queens College. During her clinical rotations at Touro, she trained with Dr. Joshua Fox at Advanced Dermatology, PC. in our Roslyn Heights office. While completing a rigorous training program alongside Dr. Fox and the Advanced Dermatology team, Rachel gained firsthand experience treating a wide range of dermatological conditions and is excited to bring her knowledge and skill set together in order to deliver high-quality patient care. Rachel has extensive training in treating various skin conditions and is fully certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Life Support. When she isn’t working, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and furthering her education in the medical field.

Sharon Hochhauser

MSN, RN, FNP

Sharon is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her education was completed at Lehman College, Hunter Bellevue School of Nursing and Queens College where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. With dedication and diligence, Sharon completed rotations at Brooklyn Hospital’s Maternity unit, Lutheran Medical Center’s Pediatric unit and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, GI unit as well as other challenging hospitals in the New York area. Sharon maintains affiliations with Northwell Health Imaging Center in New York as a dedicated member of their radiology team, working closely to administer IV’s , counsel patients and monitor them for adverse reactions. She also worked at Mercy Medical Center in their fast-paced emergency department, offering compassion and expedient care to those in need of medical attention. In her spare time she is an active participant in community outreach, sharing her experience and training with others. Her charitable work includes coordinating blood drives, participating in bone marrow drives and volunteering in the oncology department at NYU Langone Medical Center. Sharon comes to Advanced Dermatology with extreme passion for learning and sharing knowledgeable and friendly care with her patients. Sharon is fluent in English and written Hebrew. She enjoys educating patients on treatments and medications to improve their health and knowledge of possible side-effects. Her extreme dedication to the field of nursing allows her to administer life-saving treatments, she is well-versed in CPR and advanced cardiac life support. When she isn’t working, Sharon Hochhauser enjoys spending time with her family and furthering her education in the medical field.
