As reported in Yahoo! Life last week, actress Jamie Lee Curtis admits Botox® can “make the big wrinkle go away” but told her daughters “don’t mess with your face.” The 63-year-old movie star never holds back her views on anti-aging. “I have been an advocate for natural beauty for a long time, mostly because I’ve had the trial and error of the other part,” she mentioned.
Our own plastic surgeon, Dr. Anthony Taglienti, MD weighed in on Jamie Lee’s comments:
“Jamie Lee Curtis is part of an increasing movement to shun the world of plastic surgery and to embrace natural aging. While that works for her – and kudos, she is radiant regardless of whether she has botox injections or not! – it may not be what you want. When I consult with my patients I often hear that they still want to look like themselves just a bit more refreshed.
That’s why it’s always important to have a frank discussion with an experienced injector and to ensure that your goals are being met – if botox or fillers is a road you want to travel down. Injectables can be performed to achieve a youthful, natural look if not overdone – and that’s the key. As Ms. Curtis states, everyone will age – and it’s a very individual choice as to whether you simply allow it to happen or fight it tooth and nail! If you’d like to find out all of your injectable options, look to our website for more information.”
