| Superficial wrinkles, poor or irregular skin tone, enlarged pores, lack of luster or shine, rhagades, skin scarring from any cause, freckles or other skin discoloration are among the many reasons skin rejuvenation techniques are used.
The modalities that can be utilized in skin rejuvenation include using skincare products containing affective skin rejuvenation ingredients, superficial chemical peels and laser therapies. In recent years, laser techniques have been very popular in rejuvenating the skin. The lasers such as IPL, Fraxel®, and Thermage® e.t.c are widely being used.
IPL laser therapy improves the appearance of photoaged skin, removes age spots (sun-induced freckles), most benign brown pigments, and redness caused by broken capillaries through a process called photorejuvenation for face and body.
Fraxel® a nonablative resurfacing unit that reduces a patient’s anxiety about the post-operative effects of a traditional facial resurfacing procedure. A multiple treatment approach requires no preparation for the patients. A topical anesthetic is applied and light pressure is felt by the right candidate.
Thermage® a radiofrequency unit which is a non-invasive procedure with absolutely no downtime. This non-surgical procedure offers skin tightening and lifting without the downtime of a face lift. A gradual effect is seen over a couple of weeks, not the dramatic effect or response patients receive from a lift. A gradual response allows patients to be self-assured no one will know they had any work done. “Turkey neck” is elevated without incisional scars.
Maximum improvement is usually achieved with Laser Resurfacing of damaged skin and wrinkling ranges from 50 to 90% and, although 100% improvement is rarely possible, most patients view the results as dramatic improvement. Our patients at the center are very happy with the laser skin resurfacing results that effectively reduces wrinkles without the distortion and scarring associated with face-lifts.

Are you a candidate for facial skin treatment? The answer is "yes" if your skin shows evidence of chronic exposure to the sun's ultraviolet light. Physicians call this condition "photodamage", and the most obvious signs are coarsening of skin texture, irregular pigmentation and enlarged blood vessels and pores.
Facial skin treatment is the visible improvement of sun-damaged skin through the use of PhotoGenica laser technology to remove enlarged blood vessels and irregular pigmentation.
Cynosure is a leading developer and manufacturer of PhotoGenica lasers for facial skin treatment. The speed, power, and gentleness of our lasers have resulted in acceptance by physicians around the world.
Before you decide on facial skin treatment here are some things you should know about the Cynosure PhotoGenica laser.
How do I know if I have photodamaged skin?
If you are over 30 years old and enjoy an active lifestyle your skin is probably showing signs of damage.
How does PhotoGenica laser treatment reduce the signs of photodamage?
Lasers work by focusing a beam of light to a target in the skin such as enlarged blood vessels and irregular chromophores. The enlarged vessels and irregularities are removed without scarring or damage to the treated or surrounding area.
Do lasers work on all skin types?
Today's advanced lasers are capable of treating a wide variety of skin types.
How many treatments are required?
Typically several treatments are required for full-face treatment. The average treatment takes about 20 minutes. Results may become apparent after the first few treatments.
Is the treatment painful?
There is some minor discomfort associated with the treatment. In most cases no anesthesia is necessary. Such discomfort can be alleviated by cooling with a cold air system.
How does PhotoGenica laser treatment differ from C02 lasers, chemical peels, and dermabrasion?
Unlike C02 lasers, dermabrasion or chemical peels that remove the outer skin and require significant healing time, the PhotoGenica laser gently penetrates the skin without damaging it and destroys the blood vessels and brown pigment that are the cause of the problem.
How does PhotoGenica laser treatment differ from treatment with other photo skin treatment lasers? Is it safe?
Side effects are minimal. PhotoGenica lasers have been used since 1983 to treat port wine birthmarks and hemangiomas in infants as young as two days old as well as 20 different cosmetic conditions.
What will I look like after surgery?
Results will vary but you should expect your skin to appear reddened. You can expect to return to your normal activities immediately with minimal precautions such as sunscreen.
