Ultherapy®
Long Island

Collagen, produced deep beneath the skin, is responsible for keeping skin looking taut and youthful. As an individual ages, collagen production slows down, causing skin to loosen. The skin on the face and neck is especially vulnerable to sagging with age. Facelift and necklift surgeries can address these signs of aging but may not be an option for many due to financial and/or health reasons. Nowadays, non-invasive treatments are available to address loose, sagging skin without surgery, requiring minimal to no downtime afterwards, usually at a lower cost than surgery.
Advanced Dermatology, PC, with offices in East Setauket, Long Island, New York City, Queens, Westchester and New Jersey, offers Ultherapy for those seeking a non-invasive skin tightening option. Ultherapy uses ultrasound technology to stimulate the regrowth of collagen beneath the skin. Our board-certified dermatologists have undergone extensive training and have performed many Ultherapy treatments. To determine whether Ultherapy is right for you, a consultation with one of our East Setauket dermatologists will be necessary.
During your consultation, you will be examined and the Ultherapy treatment will be explained to you in great detail. Your medical history will also be reviewed, as certain conditions may exclude individuals from Ultherapy. If Ultherapy is suitable for your areas of concern, your treatment will be scheduled.
Your Ultherapy treatment will be performed in the comfort of our East Setauket office. Treatment typically lasts between 30 and 80 minutes, depending on the areas being treated. After your face has been cleansed, the Ultherapy handpiece is placed onto your face and passed over the the previously discussed areas to be treated. While Ultherapy is well-tolerated by most individuals, we offer ways to maximize discomfort for individuals with lower pain thresholds.
You will be able to immediately resume regular activities following Ultherapy. Some patients may experience temporary redness, swelling or tingling; however, these subside quickly. Over the next three months, collagen production will restart, leaving you with youthful-looking skin. One Ultherapy treatment is usually enough to provide satisfactory results, although additional treatments may be recommended in the future, as Ultherapy does not stop the aging process.
