Find the right LASER for you!
Lasers offer a unique way to treat various medical and cosmetic skin problems with minimal pain and invasiveness. The term "LASER" stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Lasers work by producing an intense beam of bright light that travels in one direction. This laser beam can cut, seal or vaporize skin tissue and blood vessels. The laser has the unique ability to produce one specific color (wavelength) of light which can be varied in its intensity and pulse duration. Ordinary light from non-laser sources is composed of many different colors and appears white. The wavelength and power output of a particular laser determines its medical application.
Lasers have been used for the treatment of skin lesions since the 1960's. However, wide use of lasers for medical treatments is a relatively recent development. Recently, technological advances have improved lasers; making laser surgery a preferred method of treatment compared with standard techniques in treating skin blemishes, tumors, birthmarks, and facial changes due to aging.
Specific lasers are used based on the medical and cosmetic condition being treated. The Center for Laser & Cosmetic Surgery confidently offers advanced laser technology with over 40 laser and light devices.
