Thermage is a non-invasive, completely safe procedure, non surgical with no injections needed. Thermage tightens, firms, and contours your skin, through natural contraction and stimulation of collagen within your skin.

How Thermage® Works
Thermage works by stimulating new growth of collagen in your skin. There are three layers to a persons skin. The outer layer is called the epidermis, the middle layer is called the dermis, and the lowest layer is called the subcutaneous layer. All these layers have collagen, which is a fat layer that runs through them all giving the skin form and shape.

Over time, the collagen in these layers break down due to sun exposure, aging, and heredity genetics. When the collagen breaks down, the skin starts to sag and wrinkle. Treatments that are used on the outer layer, the epidermis are not very long lasting, because they do not affect the layers underneath.

Thermage works on all three layers of the skin. Thermage uses Capacitive Radiofrequency (CRF) technology which heats the skins layers and stimulates new collagen growth. When heated, the collagen tightens and results can be seen right away with improved tone and texture. Results continue and are seen for four to six months after a treatment.

You only need one treatment of Thermage in order to start seeing results. Thermage works on all types of skin and all colors of skin. With Thermage being a non-invasive procedure, you can be in and out in no time and back to your normal schedule right after a procedure.

The Thermage® Procedure
The Thermage procedure can only be done by doctor’s that have been certified by Thermage and taken the training to use it. Thermage is not for everyone and a consultation with your doctor should be had first to see if Thermage is right for you. Woman between the ages of 35-60 are usually the best candidates and show the most expected results. If your skin is too loose, the results will not be as drastic.

A single session lasts anywhere between 20 minutes and two hours, depending on the area being treated. A person can just go right in and get a treatment without anything beforehand, but if a person is uncomfortable, they may ask the doctor for some pain medication.

During the procedure, each time Thermage emits its radiofrequency energy, a quick heat sensation will be felt. When this sensation is felt, you know that the collagen is tightening due to being stimulated.

Afterwards you can resume your daily schedule. Your skin might be a little red for a day or so, but it should not hinder you from going about your regular schedule.
